Located on the Northern Rivers of NSW half way between Sydney and Brisbane, Coffs Harbour based Cape Marine has gained a reputation for building unique work punts, pontoons and floating structures from an exclusive chambered aluminium plank boat building system called SEMAC (System Engineered Marine Aluminium Components) developed by Cape Marine to integrate its innovative Australian and internationally awarded marine designs with advanced aluminium fabrication techniques.
Cape Marine has won the Australian Marine Industries Federation Design Award for Innovation, a Special Mention at the European “DAME” Marine Design Awards in Amsterdam in the Marina Equipment and Boat Building Materials section and was inducted into the “Australian Technology Showcase” a national program supported by Commonwealth and State Governments that identifies leading examples of Australian technology with potential to penetrate global markets, with Cape Marine’s designs now being manufactured in New South Wales, Western Australia and New Zealand.
Cape Marines SEMAC “Shallow Draft Vessels” are rugged custom built commercial vessels that feature exceptional stability, load capacity and deck space making these unique flat bottom craft ideal for a range of inshore working conditions and marine tasks that include pro fishing, flood rescue, oil spill response and recovery, aquatic tourism, construction and security.
Cape Marine’s unique patented “Swing Mooring Pontoons” enable two vessels to be moored within the area normally required by one vessel, potentially doubling the mooring capacity of an area or alternately reducing the area occupied by moored vessels for navigational, environmental or planning reasons. Various combinations of SMP’s can be used as a multiple mooring or a marina.
